Every SILV3R product is covered for six months against defects under the Consumer Protection Act, and a little care keeps your frame tight and your lenses clear for years.
01 Six-month warranty
Under section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), every product you buy from us comes with an implied warranty of quality for six months from delivery. Your product must be:
- Reasonably suitable for the purpose it is normally used for.
- Of good quality, in good working order and free of defects.
- Usable and durable for a reasonable period.
If it is not, you may choose to have it repaired, replaced or refunded. If a repaired item fails again within three months of the repair, we will replace it or refund you.
02 What is covered
- Manufacturing defects in the frame, hinges, lenses, screws, Silver Driver or TC-30 case.
- Threads that strip or screws that fail under normal, correct use.
- Lens coating defects, such as peeling or delamination, not caused by cleaning products or heat.
- Faults present on delivery.
03 What is not covered
- Normal wear and tear, including light scuffs and gradual changes to the metal finish.
- Scratched lenses, unless the scratch was present on delivery.
- Damage from drops, impacts, sitting on or crushing the frame.
- Stripped threads or cracked lenses caused by over-tightening or using tools other than a suitable precision driver.
- Damage from heat, chemicals, solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Lost screws or parts, or unauthorised modification or repair.
Spare screws, replacement lenses and drivers are available to buy separately.
04 Swapping lenses
- Work over a soft cloth on a flat surface so that small screws cannot roll away.
- Hold lenses by their edges to avoid fingerprints on the optical surface.
- Use the Silver Driver or a precision screwdriver of the correct size. A poorly fitting driver can damage the screw head.
- Remove one lens at a time, and keep screws together in a safe spot.
- Store the lenses you are not using in the TC-30 case or a soft pouch, never loose in a bag.
05 Tightening screws
Rimless lenses are held by small screws, which need to be firm but never forced.
- Turn clockwise until the screw is snug and the lens no longer moves, then stop. Do not keep turning.
- Over-tightening puts pressure on the lens around the mounting hole and can crack it or strip the thread.
- Screws can loosen with everyday wear. Check them every few weeks and give them a gentle snug turn if a lens feels loose.
- If a screw keeps loosening or will not tighten, stop using the frame and contact us.
06 Lens care
- Rinse lenses under lukewarm water first to remove dust and grit before wiping.
- Clean with a drop of mild, lotion-free dish soap or a dedicated lens cleaner, then dry with a clean microfibre cloth.
- Never wipe lenses dry with clothing, paper towels or tissues, which can cause fine scratches.
- Avoid household glass cleaners, alcohol, acetone and other solvents, which can damage lens coatings.
- Do not leave your sunglasses in a hot car or in direct sun on a dashboard.
- Always place sunglasses lenses facing up, or store them in their case.
07 Frame care
- Wipe the frame with a soft, dry cloth after wear, especially after contact with sunscreen, salt water or chlorine.
- If needed, clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly.
- Put on and remove your sunglasses with both hands to keep the frame aligned.
- Do not attempt to bend or adjust the frame yourself. Contact us if the fit needs attention.
08 Making a warranty claim
- Email support@silv3r.site with your order number, a short description of the problem and clear photos.
- We will assess the claim and, where needed, send you return instructions. We cover the return shipping for valid warranty claims.
- Once we confirm the defect, we will repair, replace or refund the item according to your choice.
This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the CPA and other South African law.
